Test yourself on your word knowledge. Find all the possible words that can be made by the seven letters shown. Quick and easy but frustrating when you just cannot get those last few words. Polygon has all the qualities of those puzzles (word wheel, word search, polygon, etc) that are in the papers but is interactive so that you can know instantly whether you are correct or not. No waiting for the answer in tomorrows paper.

If a word is correct then the top two areas change to green, if the word is correct but youve already had it then the areas change to yellow and if it is wrong then the areas change to red.

What I have found is this program is a great App for learning words that can be used in Scrabble. You can learn the seven letter words but also it means you start to learn all those other words that help when you are playing Scrabble.

A randomised word is shown with a letter in the center. Touch the letter you want to select and it will appear in the word box below. Then select OK and you will instantly know that the word is correct or not. The scores at the top will change to show how many you have found and how many are remaining. The other number is the total number of words to be found.

Use the Del button to remove a letter that you accidentally selected.

Select the clue button and the next largest word will be revealed letter by letter. Believe me this is a major advantage over paper based puzzles. Are you completely stuck then just ask for a clue. One letter can be enough to set you thinking and to reveal multiple words. The clue button will not show you every letter. It leaves the last two up to you to guess. If there are only two letter words remaining then it will show you one letter of the two.

Unlike the paper based games you can choose to enforce the central letter or not. What this means is either every word has to use the letter in the center or it does not.

Enforcing the central letter reduces the number of possible words but makes it harder because all words must use that letter. Not enforcing the central letter increases the number of words but is easier because the words do not have to include the central letter. Your choice.

Touch the top right of the screen to reveal all the words you have found so far and all the words you have tried that were not correct.

Touch the top left to reveal all the words that you have not found so far. This is protected by an Are you sure? dialog because it gives away the remaining answers. But sometimes a quick peek is all you need. Also, ultimately you may decide you just cannot get those last few words and want to know what they were.

Select the Prefs button to see the preferences for the App and also select to start a new Game. You can only change the preferences by selecting to start a new game. You cannot decide to enforce the central letter half way through a game nor can you decide to disable the show alerts so choose wisely before selecting New Game.

Show Word Alerts - You can enable or disable the alert pop ups that appear when you get a word wrong or try a word that you have already found.

Enforce Central Letter - As described above enable or disable the use of the central letter.

Random Clue Letter - Either select to see random clue letters or clue letters from the start of the word.

Clear Word on Error - If you get a word wrong either the letters typed in remain in the word box or they are cleared. Some like them to be cleared (I do) and some like them to remain so Del can be used to remove a problem letter and try again. Once again your choice.
